Àlex Susanna

Caresses we give each other from time to time
just before falling asleep,
when outside only the wind is howling
and everything inside the house
is taking a rest from itself,
have more, perhaps, to say about our love
than all the eagerness we often
embrace each other with,
when driven by a storm of desire:
the selfsame wind could play
on softer, smoother places,
while these two hands,
cautious now and callused,
know only how to wander
where love is found.
